That's delayed due to the late service inbound from SAW, which was in turn a mix of rotational delay and delay from ATC. Though there will be an argument about having spare aircraft here, the weather has been genuinely difficult such that I doubt anyone will get compensation unless there was a clear alternative explanation. It may still get cancelled.

I have my fingers tightly crossed it goes (it’s for a friend who REALLY needs a break before he snaps :D :) )

Yes. BA326 LHR-CDG is running so late that it's not returning to London today.

Any reason for BA11 to SIN on Thu 1 August having a 3h+ ground delay and still on the tarmac as far as I can tell? I’m due to fly on this flight number tomorrow so this is purely out of interest as it’s happened twice this week.

I have just seen it’s now been cancelled. I am assuming the passengers must have been on board for almost four hours as it left the gate but never took off. Would be interesting to hear if anyone knows what happened, and for wider interest, how they reroute an A380 full of passengers to other flights as the QF and SQ options (and all connections via QR etc) have all departed for the evening.

I had family scheduled to travel on BA11 to Singapore with a connecting flight. They spent four hours delayed and on the tarmac even after the flight was cancelled due to a technical fault.

BA told them they had six cancelled flights today, so they don't have any more hotels to book people into as they are 'sold out'. Everyone will need to pay and then make a claim later. In addition, they have now all been told they won't get their baggage back. Everyone was told that they would need to file for lost baggage or wait until tomorrow and it 'may be there'.

They can't even book another flight now with BA holding everyone's luggage. BA have not be able to reroute anyone from my understanding yet. They are being contacted tomorrow to see if they can get them on another flight.

Thank you for the detailed reply. What an awful situation to be in - I hope your family find a solution that works for them. The baggage being unavailable to them doesn’t leave them with many options other than to wait for BA to rebook them I guess?

I did fear the sheer number of passengers involved would make hotels and rerouting difficult and know that long hauls are usually the last to be cancelled unless there’s no other option. A quick search on Google Flights isn’t showing much in terms of sensible options for tomorrow unless BA have already starting blocking out seats.

If this tech issue isn’t resolved by tomorrow it would mean BA now has multiple A380s out of operation.

BA 12 to LHR Cancelled

I was booked on BA 12 tonight from SIN to LHR. It's been cancelled. Thankfully I managed to snag the last first seat on the earlier BA16 but the agent who sorted that for me (very efficiently) said that BA12 was full which will mean issues for those passengers.

2nd day in a row BA98 has been cancelled. They put me on KLM tomorrow.
Am I entitled to compensation?

BA227 ATL - WEAN, ditto

Ikr....I think they just cancelled it two days in a row because they have 2 flights to YYZ.

They can book another flight even without their luggage. Just make sure that WorldTracer is up to date with information where the luggage should go to. BA will expedite to any place in the world, not just to the destination of their original flight. I wouldn't wait until BA gives them a call, I would call in proactively and ask for re-booking and then for re-routing if not possible. The luggage shouldn't be why they are stuck in LHR.

In the meantime, your family members should buy essentials in terms of toiletries, clothing, nappies, whatever it is, and expense the cost to BA after the trip is completed whilst filing your EU261 claim. Of course include hotel costs, meal costs, transportation to and from the airport, etc.

Sorry I know it's early doors but just had the notification for BA2546 - LGW to AMS this evening. 'Operational constraints' in the email, if anyone knows the reason noted in the system that would be super useful.

Welcome to Flyertalk and welcome to the BA Forum. I would hope your family members can get sorted out today. This is the other thread which is helpful in this situation, it's not so unusual for people to book their own hotels and it's sometimes better that way.
